Unit 2 - ICT In Organisations

In this unit students learn how an organisation works and about the types of hardware and software they use in a system

1. The different purposes for which the organisation/department uses ICT
   • You will describe the main functions of the organisation/department
   • Detail a wide range of purposes for which they use ICT including information, communication and functional purposes
   • Explain how ICT is used to help the organisation/department meet its objectives
2. A report on the ICT system used in the organisation/department
   • The ICT system must relate to one of the purposes discussed in the first report
   • Include valid descriptions for the software and at least 4 out of 5 of the main components of the hardware group
     • Input

     • Processing
     • Storage
     • Ports & Cables
   • Evaluate how well each system component meets the purpose
   • Explain how the components work together as a system
