Unit 2 - ICT In Organisations
In this unit students learn how an organisation works and about the types of hardware and software they use in a system
Students produce 2 pieces of coursework as follows
- The different purposes for which the organisation/department uses ICT
- You will describe the main functions of the organisation/department
- Detail a wide range of purposes for which they use ICT including information, communication and functional purposes
- Explain how ICT is used to help the organisation/department meet its objectives
- A report on the ICT system used in the organisation/department
- The ICT system must relate to one of the purposes discussed in the first report
- Include valid descriptions for the software and at least 4 out of 5 of the main components of the hardware group

- Evaluate how well each system component meets the purpose
- Explain how the components work together as a system
